Vicky Minderhout

Vicky Minderhout has a B.A. in chemistry from Kalamazoo College and a Ph.D. in biochemistry from Northwestern University. She is Professor of Chemistry at Seattle University. She serves on the advisory board for the SU Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning and the Steering Committee for the POGIL project. Minderhout is a coauthor of materials developed for guided inquiry in a year-long biochemistry sequence an is currently the PI for a NSF funded project to test and disseminate biochemistry materials nationally. She has served as a facilitator in local and national workshops for faculty on active learning and organized on-campus process oriented workshops. She has given presentations and posters on guided inquiry and assessment at National Meetings of Sigma Xi, BCCE, ACS and the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and has published on the topics of classroom facilitation, assessing activities and identifying learner needs.
